Just ten miles up the coast is
Donna Nook where
seals gather in the winter to rear their young. The reserve has one of the largest and most accessible breeding colonies of grey seals in the UK. During November and December the Trust holds a wardening service to protect the seals and to organise viewing facilities for visitors. It is a truly amazing spectacle.
To the south lies Gibraltar point,
430 hectares and 3 miles in length of sandy shores, sand dunes, salt
marshes and freshwater habitats. The area, which is recognised as an
area of International Scientific Interest, has an observation platform,
public hides and a Visitor Centre - the whole family can enjoy exploring
this wonderful place.
